Body IQ: The Forgotten Intelligence That Can Heal Our Minds

By Dean, Founder of Dean’s Mobility Training | Posture to Presence

In a world that rewards overthinking and constant doing, we’ve forgotten the most primal intelligence we possess:

The intelligence of the body.

Most people try to access peace through doing more—more gym time, more meditation, more hacks, more control.

But what if the answer isn’t in doing more?

What if the answer is in doing what you already do—better?

---

Where the Mind Wanders, the Body Waits

People often connect to their breath in two ways:

At the gym, where physical exertion demands core engagement.

In meditation, to regulate the nervous system and reconnect with stillness.

Both are powerful—but they’re often isolated from everyday life.

What’s missing is integration.

Not more tasks. Not more time.

Instead: more presence in what you’re already doing.

---

Your Posture is the Portal

Instead of stacking more onto your schedule, consider this:

Washing dishes? Let that become breathwork.

Sweeping the floor? That’s an ankle mobility drill.

Driving? A perfect time to align your spine and ground your heels.

Playing with your kids? That’s core engagement through love.

Sitting at the office? Posture and breath awareness can reset your nervous system.

Working at your laptop? Transform tech time into a moment of self-correction.

Standing in line or commuting? Reset your breath, feel your feet, return to the present.

Traveling? Use the seat beneath you as your ground. Reconnect. Breathe.

Every moment is an opportunity to return to the body.

And when you connect to your body—you connect to your power.

---

The GEM Method: Ground – Engage – Maintain

This is the application. This is how I live and teach embodiment.

1. Ground

Bring attention to your heels.

Most of us are adapted to lean forward, weight in the toes.

Reclaim your foot. Feel it fully connected.

Say silently: “I am here.”

2. Engage

Exhale completely.

Feel the diaphragm contract and the core engage naturally.

Stay with it—not rigid, but ready.

3. Maintain

Inhale deeply into your diaphragm.

Exhale, feeling the tension in your core.

Hold that tone. Inhale again—while keeping subtle core connection.

Like shifting gears in a car—learn when to hold more, when to release.

---

This Is Body IQ

This is your body’s way of telling you: I’ve got you.

You begin to know what kind of tension, stability, and breathing you need for each moment.

That’s body intelligence—your real-time operating system.

And as Body IQ increases…

Emotional intelligence follows.

You no longer spiral from stress—you observe it.

You no longer carry the weight of the world—you feel rooted.

You become someone others gravitate to—because you're in your body. You're present.

---

Why This Matters Now

We’re passing down a legacy of disconnection—mental, physical, emotional.

But we can rewrite that. Not by escaping the world, but by re-entering it… through the body.

This is the revolution.

This is the medicine.

This is the manual for rising.

Let’s create a world where posture is not how you look—

It’s how you live.

It’s how you lead.

And it’s how we heal—together.

Great article! “Body IQ: The Forgotten Intelligence That Can Heal Our Minds” really opened my eyes. It’s so true that we often forget how smart our bodies are. When we learn to listen to our bodies, we can feel better both in our minds and hearts. Just like we use tools like aleks math help to grow smarter in school, we can also grow by understanding our body’s signals. Thanks for sharing this it’s a great reminder for self-care!

Beautifully written, Dean. Your perspective on Body IQ and everyday embodiment is a powerful reminder to slow down and reconnect. Just like in “fm services uk,” where seamless, efficient systems matter, our body too thrives when we integrate awareness into the small moments. Healing, presence, and flow come not from adding more—but from doing better with what’s already there.

The connection between physical awareness and mental well-being. While it focuses on healing through body intelligence, it indirectly reminds us of the stress modern responsibilities bring. For students overwhelmed with tasks, it's no surprise that many seek help and search for phrases like do my accounting homework for me. Just as body intelligence can relieve emotional strain, academic support can ease mental load. Balancing both could lead to a healthier, more productive lifestyle.
